Aren’t you curious about other people’s lives? The only way to have answers is to ask questions. This activity will help you to do the interview.
3. Back to the past
1. Living in the past
Look at these photos, do you think they are contemporary or from a past century? Discuss in groups of 4.
They are the Amish community, a religious group that has turned their backs on technology and electricity, so there are no televisions, computers, or radios.
Their way of life is the same as in the 18th century and surely it’s very different from yours..
Imagine you are reporters that visit the Amish community. What would you ask them? In groups of four, write your questions. After that, share them with the rest of your classmates.Do you want to know more about the Amish? You can search on the web and in groups, talk about the differences you have found between their way of life and yours.
Kardia dice... Different but maybe the same
Perhaps you’ve compared the Amish way of life with your own way of life. And you’ll think you don’t have anything in common.
However, I’m sure that you would be able to make a list with more than ten things you have in common. Try to do it and you’ll be surprised.
This will help you with your task.
2. Apply your knowledge to new tasks
Maybe in the activity Living in the past, in which you had to think of the present and the past of those people, you’ve worked with some knowledge you already had.
Without noticing, you’ve shared your knowledge to face this situation and an innovative task, it’s amazing!
You sure can do it again in different activities!
