Text

(Lucy 1:) Hi Anthony, I am very excited. It is my first performance. My family has come to see me.

(Anthony 1:) Oh Lucy, I am frightened to death. My role is not very important but performing embarrasses me.

(Lucy 2:) Really? You will do great! Do you remember that presentation you didn’t want to do in front of the class and eventually our teacher congratulated you?

(Anthony 2): You are right but maybe this time it is different. What will people say if I forget my lines? Or if I say it wrong? Will there be many people?

(Lucy 3): Come on, Anthony. You did fantastic in the rehearsals. Now it is time to enjoy it. Believe in yourself and go for it!

Anthony 3: Thank you for being there for me. I am so grateful that I can always count on you.

Questions:

  • How do the characters feel?
  • What would you say if you were Lucy?
  • How do they help each other?
  • How would you feel if you were Lucy or Anthony?
