Caso práctico

Hoy en día, es fundamental manejar ciertas técnicas y vocabulario específico para encontrar un trabajo en el sector que deseamos. En el sector turístico, es además esencial conocer ese tipo de técnicas en inglés debido a la estrecha relación que el sector del Turismo tiene con los idiomas. Por esta razón, vamos a trabajar en esta tarea la forma de solicitar un trabajo en inglés.

En esta tarea se trabajan las cuatro destrezas para poder hacer al final una carta de solicitud de un trabajo dentro del sector turístico.

4. Writing (2 points)

Imagine you want to apply for a job in a very important corporation in the tourist sector. Write a covering letter. Remember it is important to:

  • Make sure you write between 150 and 200 words.
  • Include at last the following information:
    • Where you found out about the job.
    • Why you would like the job.
    • Why you are qualified to do the job (education, work experience, personal skills, etc.).
    • Explain you are available for a job interview.

 

5. Speaking (2 points) 

Imagine you are asked to talk about yourself during a job interview. Record a video talking about the following aspects:

  • Your personal information
  • Your work experience
  • Some ideas about your character and qualifications
  • Your strengths and weaknesses

Please, remember to:

  • Control the duration of the video (between 1.30 and 2 minutes).
  • Appear in the video: you must be perfectly recognizable.
  • Check the sound is good enough to be understood.
  • Do not read the text. Your speech must sound natural.
