London has got the worst workplaces in the UK Problems with violence and threats1, long hours of work and problems with equipment are reported in a survey by London workers. In the survey2, London came out as having the worst violence and threatening behaviour3 and the longest working hours in Britain. More than one-third said that employees in their workplaces had suffered workplace intimidation. The survey found that for a 30 per cent of workers, fear of violence at work was among their top five concerns4. Employees working with the public, such as jobcentre staff5 and hospital workers, felt most at risk. The survey revealed that more than half of all office staff in the UK have become so angry at work they have nearly punched6 a colleague. Nearly sixty per cent of London employees found it difficult to cope7 with stress.
