Reflect upon the following questions:

  • From your point of view, what's a fashion victim?
  • Would you like to wear an outfit just because you have seen a famous person on TV and he or she looked pretty cool wearing, let's say, a pair of ripped jeans, a navy blazer and pointy crocodile leather shoes?
  • Would you purchase an expensive suit just because the salesman has told you 'it's all the rage this season'?
  • If you are walking on the street and you see a person wearing a pink or yellow t-shirt, white knee-length pants with a pastel coloured belt, white and pink flip-flops and a pair of metallic sunglasses, does he or she look hip for you?
  • Why do you buy garments? Because they are trendy, because they have a logo on them, or simply because you like them.

Now you are going to listen to a song called eBay by "Weird Al" Yankovic. It is a parody of  the song I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys. In it, the narrator describes how he incessantly purchases bizarre and unneeded items on eBay. He lists a series of objects bought on this website.
