Contexto y objetivos de la tarea

Contexto:

Muchas de las noticias que leemos online hoy en día y muchas de las noticias que nos llegan principalmente por medio de las redes sociales son en muchas ocasiones falsas. El término "fake news" que empleamos habitualmente se refiere a noticias y relatos creados a propósito para difundir información engañosa. Su objetivo es el contrario al de un artículo de noticias: intentar desinformar a la gente y crear una tendencia de opinión. Es un nuevo tipo de propaganda.  

En esta tarea aprenderás a:
  • Objetivo 1: Entender un reportaje de tema tecnológico y sobre noticias.
  • Objetivo 2: Aprender y utilizar vocabulario relacionado con las noticias y la tecnología.
  • Objetivo 3: Redactar una noticia con un lenguaje propio del nivel.
  • Objetivo 4: Tomar conciencia sobre la manipulación informativa y formas de contrastar información procedente de los medios y redes sociales.
  • Objetivo 5: Interaccionar en un foro con tus compañeros/as.

Descripción de la tarea

2. Decide whether these statements are True or False. Justify always your answers by quoting from the video.

a. All false information is intended to deceive. and it has ulterior motives.

b. False information is often created for economic reasons.

3. Do one or more quizzes on Buzzfeed . Include in the forum created a summary of a piece of the news you have read. A fellow student must determine if it is true or false giving a reason. Verify his/her answer. Each student must propose a piece of news or information and answer to another student. Follow these steps:

Part 1

  • Look for a piece of news on Buzzfeed or any other source. It may be true or false.
  • Write a summary of it in the forum indicating what the source of the article is (where you have heard, watched or read it)
  • Verify your mate's answers.

Part 2

  • Read the article a fellow student has included in the forum
  • Decide if it's fake or real and say why.
  • Wait for your mate's answer.

This is what some experts say about fake news spotting. These tips may help you :

  • Does the article have a lot of flamboyant adjectives? Most real news articles don’t.
  • Does the article include any quotes from identified sources? A lot of fake stories don’t.
  • If the article quotes a source, do the person’s words seem to match their title? Some fake articles have started putting words in the mouths of respected officials.
  • Check the source. Is it an organization you recognize?
