Read the text about Saint Patrick’s Day and write in your notebook your personal opinion about it.
Pay special attention to the underlined words and include them in your text
Saint Patrick is a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, but people also celebrate in English speaking countries. Saint Patrick was a Christian missionary and a patron saint of Ireland.
Every 17th of March, when Saint Patrick died, there is a parade with the Irish flag in New York City and American-Irish people get together and have a feast to celebrate this day. But, in other places, people play traditional games or participate in competitions and, at the end of the day, they watch the fireworks. Also, it’s a tradition to wear green clothes, so it’s common to see people in green hoodies or coats.
The most typical drink is beer, but it’s tradition to say cheers before people drink.
When you finish you can show it to your teacher.
