Descripción de la tarea

 

1.   En la sección llamada “Agony Aunt” de un periódico se reciben cartas con problemas; Marge les da respuesta con posibles soluciones. Lee el texto de una carta recibida y contesta a las preguntas:

Do you think I should report her for theft to the boss or not? My parents always taught me to tell the truth and that any stealing is wrong. What do you think? Rachel

 

 

a)    What is her problem? Explain it in a sentence.

b)    How do you think she feels when she sees her colleague stealing? 

c)    What did her parents teach her about this issue?

d)    What would you do if you were her?

 

 

 2.    En este caso, recibe un mensaje con otro problema distinto. Lee la carta y completa la ficha del informe que sobre ella rellena Marge en esta sección del periódico:

I’ve never liked spiders but I could cope with them more or less until I saw a horrific film about killer spiders multiplying and destroying everything inside. Now, I can’t control my fear. The other day I saw a huge spider at school and started screaming. All the children started screaming and crying as well. My boss has been understanding until now, but after this he told me I can’t carry on like this. I like my job and I don’t really want to leave... Mariah

 3.    En dicho informe sobre el caso de Mariah aparecen estas oraciones. Vuelve a escribirlas usando los conectores entre paréntesis, haciendo para ello los cambios oportunos y eliminando, si prodece, algunos elementos de cada oración:  

Ej: Mariah has written to the newspaper so that she gets some help. (in order to) à Mariah has written to the newspaper to get some help.

 

a)    Mariah is afraid she will lose her job and get her life ruined too. (as well as)

 

b)    She had this fear before, but it is getting worse. (although)

 

c)    She’s asking for help in order to control her phobia. (so that)

 

d)    Though her boss has always been understanding, he is angry now. (However)

 

e)    She has two options: she changes her attitude or she leaves the school. (either … or)

 

 

 4.    Elige uno de los dos casos (el de Rachel o el de Mariah) para contestarle en una carta formal. En tu texto debes incluir oraciones en Condicional II para ponerte en el lugar de esa persona (ej: If I were you….). (80-120 palabras aprox).

 

• utiliza correctamente la estructura y expresiones de la carta formal
• utiliza los tipos de conectores practicados en la tarea: although, however, because, etc.
• debes incluir oraciones condicionales tipo II para dar los consejos
